Master of Science--Thesis

The master of science degree, with thesis, requires 30 credits, as follows:

  • 3 credits of statistics course
  • 8-9 credits technology systems management (TSM) or agricultural engineering (AE) graduate courses, excluding TSM/AE 590, 598, 601, 694, and 699
  • 10-11 credits of other courses
  • 1 credit of TSM 601 seminar
  • 1 credit of TSM 598 technical paper
  • 6 credits of TSM 699 research

Master of Science--Non-thesis

The master of science degree, with thesis, requires 33 credits, as follows:

  • 3 credits of statistics course
  • 11-12 credits technology systems management (TSM) or agricultural engineering (AE) graduate courses, excluding TSM/AE 590, 598, 599, 601, and 694
  • 14-16 credits of other courses
  • 1 credit of TSM 601 seminar
  • 2-3 credits of TSM 599 creative component

Doctor of Philosophy

The PhD requires 72 credits beyond the BS degree (master's credits count toward this minimum). The minimums are as follows:

12 credits of TSM 699 research

48 minimum credits of coursework beyond the BS degree (The credits from your master's program count toward this requirement.)

  • 9 credits of statistics and research methods
  • 15 credits of technology systems management (TSM) and agricultural engineering (AE) graduate courses, excluding TSM/AE 590, 601, 694, 698, and 699 (at least 6 credits must be in 600 level TSM courses)
  • 24 credits of other courses (9 credits must be in courses outside the department); 1-3 credits must be 694 teaching practicum
