7th and 8th-grade students on Science in Iowa Day.
On Tuesday, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences hosted about 70 7th- and 8th-grade students on campus to participate in technology and science activities. The yearly event gives Ames and Nevada students a chance to get some hands-on experience with different areas of science and technology available at the university.
The ABE Department hosted three workshops for the students. Dr. Jacek Koziel and Dr. Lingshuan Cai held a workshop called Nose Ranger, using olfactometry technology. Dr. Amy Kaleita held a workshop called Remote Sensing for Environmental Conservation, and graduate students Jenni Himmelsbach and Asli Isci held a workshop on Fermentation. Asli Isci could be there for the workshop, so graduate student Jasjeet Kaur helped Jenni with the workshop.
