Sustainable Biomass Production and Processing Systems REU
The Sustainable Production and Processing Systems for Biomass-Derived Fuels of the Future REU Program selected participants will explore the scientific and engineering frontiers of sustainable biofuel production and processing and generate new knowledge that advances our understanding of methods, processes and conservation practices that can enable us to produce biomass‐derived renewable energy while minimizing impact on the environment.

Biogeosciences REU
The Summer Undergraduate Research Experiences in Biogeosciences at Iowa State University will provide research experiences and professional development for talented undergraduate students in the biogeosciences, defined broadly as research that links biophysical, geophysical, and geochemical approaches to understanding the Earth’s systems.
Program dates: May 29 – August 3, 2012
Application deadline: March 23, with review of applications beginning March 19
Bridging the Diversity Gap in the Biogeosciences REU
(for community college/transfer students)
This REU program introduces a cohort of talented community college students and transfers, including non-traditional and traditionally-aged students and students from underrepresented minority groups, to collaborative summer research experiences in the biogeosciences in an environment where interdisciplinary team problem-solving is the norm. This program is closely aligned with the ISU summer Biogeosciences REU.
