Current Project:

Non-Basin Technologies for Open Feedlot Runoff: Demonstration, Implementation, and Modeling

My research thesis is evaluating the performance of alternative methods to control water runoff from beef feedlots, particularly using vegetative treatment systems (VTS). These systems convey all the runoff from six sites in Iowa with another six sites being built in the surrounding states. Major responsibilities include analyzing data from the out of state sites along with collecting ground and surface water samples, soil samples, and analysis of data from the Iowa sites
