Mr. Vengasandra is originally from Bangalore, India. While pursuing his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT, Chicago he researched and co-authored two technical articles in the area of Surface Science and Nanotechnology.

His drive to gain some valuable industry experience before attempting to secure a doctoral degree led him to accept research scientist’s position in two start-up companies in Ames and Baltimore, MD. Mr.Vengasandra co-authored another 10 papers that were published in international journals while pursuing his professional career.

Since the Spring of 2006 he has been pursing his PhD here in ISU’s Ag & Biosystems’ Engineering department under the leadership of Dr.David Grewell. Mr.Vengasandra is currently working on a lab-on-a-CD project. His area of interest in general is technology management and technology transfer.
