The agricultural systems technology and industrial technology programs are accredited by the Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering Accreditation Commission of ATMAE. Recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), ATMAE’s scope of accreditation includes Associate, Baccalaureate, and Master’s degree programs in technology, applied technology, engineering technology, and technology-related disciplines delivered at national or regional accredited institutions in the United States.
Our Continuous Curricular Improvement Process
We work with key constituents to determine the outcomes expected of our students at time of graduation and at 2 to 5 years post-graduation. We use multiple assessment techniques to determine whether or not students achieve these outcomes. These assessments inform our continuous curricular improvement process. ATMAE requires us to publicly post key information about our programs.
Technology Degree Program Option Mission, General Outcomes and Program Learning Outcomes:
- Agricultural Systems Technology – Agriculture Biosystems Management
- Agricultural Systems Technology – Machine Systems
- Industrial Technology – Manufacturing
- Industrial Technology – Occupational Safety
- Industrial Technology – Biological and Biomanufacturing Systems Technology
Our students, courses, and programs are evaluated using the general outcomes and program learning outcomes, shown at each option link above. We use an assessment model developed to facilitate competency-based learning that aims to prepare students with the skills, attitudes, and behaviors needed to be successful practicing professionals.

About Accreditation
Technology Degree Programs: In the spring of 2020, our ATMAE self study report was submitted and the accreditation team completed a virtual visit of the ISU campus. The two agricultural systems technology (AST) degree options and the two industrial technology (ITEC) degree options were fully accredited by ATMAE in the fall of 2020 and is valid through 2026.
